Growing Tips for Our Seeds
Orange Crush is easier to grow with moderate experience. Better suited for indoor grows than outdoor grows, you can still make this strain work outside because of its hassle-free nature. Having complete control of the environment is what makes most strains easier to grow indoors. This strain, however, grows great outdoors, if you live in a climate that produces the appropriate light and air conditions needed to bring this strain to harvest. Because the plants typically stay under 6 feet tall there are a wide variety of setups that will work for growing Orange Crush.
Dial in Your Growing Conditions
- Indoor or Outdoor: Orange Crush requires less maintenance than most plants. The strain is very resilient and has loads of success in most conditions. Consistency is key when dealing with Orange Crush. It absolutely thrives in dry and sunny environments. The desired temperature for Orange Crush is between 68-80 degrees fahrenheit during the day and slightly cooler at night. You will want to use a 12/12 light cycle while keeping indoor lights approximately 18-24 inches above the tops of the plant.
- Moisture control: Orange Crush’s humidity requirements are between 40-50% during the vegetative stage. You will want to lower the humidity down to around 40% at night and during the flowering stage. This will help grow the thick, dense buds you crave.
- Training Techniques: Orange Crush benefits greatly from pruning. Trimming down the upper leaves will help light make its way to the bottom buds, giving you an even growth on the entire plant. Low-stress training is also recommended because it exposes more of the plant to its light source.
The Germination Game Plan
Before you even plant your Orange Crush female cannabis plants, you will first need to germinate these seeds. To do so, refer to our free germination guide, knowing that they are backed by our impressive 90% germination guarantee.
Yields, Flowering Time and Harvest
- Flowering Time: With an indoor grow you can expect Orange Crush to harvest after its 55-65 day flowering period. The two month flowering period is pretty standard across most strains. Outdoor growers should be able to harvest Orange Crush between late September and early October. To further enhance its citrusy flavor, growers can consider curing the buds after cutting and drying their plants.
- Yields: Indoor yields are 350 grams per square meter, while outdoor grows typically produce up to 450 grams per plant. While not a giant yield, because of this plant’s ease of growth and relatively hands-off grow cycle, these yields are still very favorable.
Dominant Terpenes in Orange Crush: Simply Citrus
Orange Crush’s terpene profile is fairly standard. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene while limonene, pinene and myrcene are in the background contributing to the aroma and sweet taste of the Orange Crush strain.
- Caryophyllene: The Most Dominant – Spicy, peppery notes. Found in cinnamon, cloves and black pepper. It is what gives Orange Crush’s citrus and spice.
- Myrcene: The Most Abundant – Featuring a fruity aroma, myrcene actually increases the effects of THC and its absorption rate.
- Limonene: Earthy Notes – Combined with Myrcene and Caryophyllene, these three terpenes elevate mood and create an uplifting high. The scent is reminiscent of lemons and other citrus fruits. The second most abundant terpene in marijuana, limonene improves mood and reduces stress.
- Pinene: Found in Orange Peels – Pinene, believe it or not, has the ability to help with asthma. It can relax and help open airways and aid in respiratory functions.
Dominant Cannabinoids in Orange Crush:
Cannabinoids, although in the background, play an important role in Orange Crush and are a huge part of the genetic makeup of cannabis in general. That creative, happy and energetic feeling you get when using Orange Crush is due to its dominant cannabinoids. Each cannabinoid does something a little different and depending on how much THC and CBD there is they can produce different effects on the mind and body.
- THC: The Main Character – THC is the most dominant cannabinoid on the molecular level of Orange Crush. The crystalline compound tetrahydrocannabinol is the main ingredient of cannabis. Topping out at around 20%, the THC in the Sativa-dominant Hybrid is responsible for the social and motivated feelings you get when you use it. The above average THC levels in Orange Crush are desired by cannabis growers and users.
- CBD: Small Amounts – CBD is a cannabinoid that is non-psychoactive but can be found in most cannabis strains. With about 1% of Orange Crush’s makeup being CBD it has smaller effects than the 20% THC found in this strain. Even though it is in small doses the CBD in this strain is responsible for relieving aches and pains and relaxing tired muscles.
